If you've spent any time on social media lately, you've probably seen people asking ChatGPT some slightly unhinged questions about themselves—and, of course, I had to try it. From “describe me in one word” to “write an unhinged bio about me,” I decided to test some of the viral ChatGPT prompts and see what AI apparently thinks it knows about me. Some answers made me laugh, some were surprisingly accurate, and a few had me wondering if maybe I've told ChatGPT a little too much. 😂
So, I'm trying them for you. I'll share the exact prompts, screenshots of ChatGPT's responses, and my reaction to each one. And if you're feeling brave, you can try the prompts and see what ChatGPT has to say about you, too.
Want to Try It Yourself?
I obviously couldn't try every viral ChatGPT prompt without turning this into a novel, so here are a few more you can copy and try for yourself:
- Based on everything you know about me, tell me who I am at my core. Don't sugarcoat it.
- What is something you've learned about me that I might not realize about myself?
- How would you describe me to someone who didn't know me? Act like I'm not in the room.
- What is my biggest red flag?
- What is my most chaotic personality trait?
- What is the most predictable thing about me?
- What is one pattern you see in me that I probably don't notice?
- If I were a character in a TV show, how would the writers describe my character arc?
- What is my personal brand without using anything related to my actual job or business?
- What would my warning label say?
- What are three things you think I need to hear right now?
- Based on our conversations, what do you think I value most?
- What's one piece of advice you think I need but probably don't want to hear?
And if you're feeling particularly brave:
"Tell me the hard truth about myself that I've been avoiding."
Don't blame me for what happens next. 😂
So...Does ChatGPT Actually Know Me?
Obviously, ChatGPT doesn't know me in the same way the people in my life do. It only knows the version of me I've shared through our conversations—and I've apparently shared enough for it to have opinions.
Some of these made me laugh. Some called me out a little harder than I expected. And some were surprisingly thoughtful.
But I think that's actually what made this experiment so interesting.
The answers weren't necessarily valuable because AI had somehow figured out who I am. They were valuable because they made me stop and ask:
Do I see myself that way?
And considering how much of my own journey has been about figuring out who I am underneath everyone else's expectations, that's a pretty interesting question.
So try a few of these prompts yourself. Screenshot the answers. Laugh at the ridiculous ones. Sit with the ones that hit a little differently. Disagree with ChatGPT when it gets you completely wrong.
And maybe pay attention to the answers that make you think.
Because sometimes seeing yourself reflected back—even through something as unexpected as a viral ChatGPT prompt—can show you something you hadn't noticed before.
Or, at the very least, you'll get a brutally honest Yelp review of yourself.
Honestly, worth it. 😂
